Key takeaways
- JPJ summonses can be checked free in the MyJPJ app, the MySIKAP portal, or at any JPJ counter or kiosk using your IC number.
- Police (PDRM) traffic summonses are separate: check and pay them in MyBayar PDRM, which charges no service fee.
- Since 1 January 2026, JPJ and PDRM give 50% off if you pay within 15 days and 33% off within 16 to 30 days; days 31 to 60 are full price.
- Summonses unpaid after 60 days face court action or blacklisting, which makes renewing your roadtax (LKM) and driving licence difficult.
- Since 18 March 2026, AwAS camera summonses that led to a blacklist can be paid in MyJPJ, and the blacklist is lifted automatically after payment.
- Driving without insurance or without valid roadtax is non-compoundable: no discount, and the case goes to court.
How do I check my JPJ saman online?
The quickest way is the MyJPJ app or JPJ's MySIKAP portal. Both are official and both show the summonses recorded under your IC number and the vehicles registered to you. The government portal lists JPJ's Summons Check service and it opens the MySIKAP login page, so you always check your own record after logging in.
- Download MyJPJ from Google Play, the App Store or AppGallery. Avoid look-alike apps and never pay through a link sent by SMS or WhatsApp.
- Register or log in with your IC number. New registrations also ask for the unique alphanumeric code printed on the back of your driving licence card, a security step added in February 2023 (Sinar Harian).
- Open the summons (saman) section. You will see each notice, the offence, the date and the amount payable today.
- Pay in the app with online banking or card, then screenshot the receipt.
- Check your blacklist status in the same account if you have older summonses (see below).
If MyJPJ says your IC is already registered, it is usually because you signed up for MySIKAP or JPJeBid years ago. The same IC cannot be registered twice, so log in with that old account or reset its password.
No smartphone? You can also check and pay at any JPJ counter or JPJ kiosk. Bring your IC.

JPJ saman vs PDRM saman: where do I check each one?
Many drivers check MyJPJ, see nothing, and assume they are clean. But traffic summonses come from two agencies, and you should check both.
| Who issued it | Typical examples | Where to check and pay |
|---|---|---|
| JPJ (Road Transport Department) | JPJ road checks, AwAS speed and red light cameras, licence and roadtax offences | MyJPJ app, MySIKAP portal, JPJ counters and kiosks |
| PDRM (traffic police) | Police traffic summonses, speed traps and road blocks by the police | MyBayar PDRM app or website, PDRM payment channels |
MyBayar PDRM lets you check and pay police summonses online without service charges, for both individual and company summonses, and non-Malaysians can log in too. The Transport Minister listed MySIKAP, MyJPJ, MyBayar PDRM, JPJ counters and kiosks and PDRM payment channels as the official ways to check and pay (Malay Mail).
Company cars and lorries: summonses may sit under the company's registration, not under the driver's IC. Ask whoever handles the company's JPJ matters to check the company account too.
Is there a saman discount in 2026? The new pay early, pay less rule
From 1 January 2026 the Cabinet replaced the old discount campaigns with one principle for both JPJ and PDRM: "The Less You Delay, The Less You Pay". The earlier you pay after the notice date, the lower the compound (Malay Mail, 22 October 2025).
| When you pay (days after the notice) | Reduction | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 15 days | 50% | You pay half the compound |
| 16 to 30 days | 33% | You pay about two thirds |
| 31 to 60 days | None | Full compound rate |
| 61 days and above | Not applicable | Court action or blacklisting |
These reductions do not apply to non-compoundable offences, such as driving without insurance, without a Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM, your roadtax) or displaying a fake LKM. Those go to court.
Worked example (assumed figures)
Assume a compound of RM300 on a notice dated 1 March. This is an example amount only, not the rate for any particular offence.
| Paid on | Reduction | You pay |
|---|---|---|
| 10 March (day 10) | 50% | RM150 |
| 25 March (day 25) | 33% | RM201 |
| 20 April (day 51) | None | RM300 |
| After day 60 | None | Court action or blacklist risk |
Simple rule: check MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM once a month, and pay within 15 days.
What happens if I don't pay? Blacklist, roadtax and licence renewal
Unpaid summonses past 60 days can lead to blacklisting. JPJ warned that from 1 January 2026, blacklisting makes it difficult to renew your driving licence and your LKM (roadtax). At the end of 2025 there were about 4.76 million unpaid JPJ summons notices worth around RM1.428 billion (Berita RTM, 28 December 2025).
You can check whether your vehicle licence is blacklisted through JPJ's Blacklist Status Check (it also opens the MySIKAP login) or in MyJPJ.
- AwAS camera summonses: since 18 March 2026, people blacklisted for AwAS summonses can pay them in MyJPJ, and the blacklist is lifted automatically once payment succeeds, so you can renew your LKM without going to a counter (paultan.org, citing Bernama).
- Notice 114 and court cases: payment in MyJPJ does not cover Notis Saman (114) or non-compoundable summonses. These are settled in court.
- "Notis hadir": if you receive a notice to attend, you must go to the JPJ office. If you don't, you will be blacklisted and still have to go to JPJ to settle it.
This is the part I see trip people up: someone comes to renew roadtax and insurance, and only then finds the vehicle is blacklisted. A two minute check before your renewal month saves a lot of running around.
Common mistakes when checking and paying saman
- Checking only one agency. MyJPJ will not show PDRM summonses. Check MyBayar PDRM too.
- Waiting for a discount campaign. Since 2026 there are no blanket campaigns; waiting past day 15 only costs you more.
- Paying through links in SMS. Fake "blacklist" messages ask you to pay through a link. Only pay inside the official apps or at counters.
- Forgetting a car you sold. If the ownership transfer was never completed, summonses may still come to you. Check every plate registered to your IC.
- Treating driving without insurance like a small fine. It is non-compoundable and goes to court. Keep your motor insurance and roadtax active.
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Summons shows in MyJPJ, under 60 days | Pay in the app, the earlier the cheaper |
| Vehicle blacklisted for AwAS | Pay in MyJPJ; the blacklist is lifted automatically after payment |
| Notice 114, notice to attend, or non-compoundable offence | Go to the JPJ office or court as stated on the notice |
| Police summons | Check and pay in MyBayar PDRM |
