How it started
Straight after graduating, Lulu took a part-time job handing out insurance flyers on the streets of Klang. It was meant to be temporary. But talking to people on the street, she realised that insurance, done properly, is a way to genuinely help someone at the hardest moment of their life.
One auntie held up the flyer and said, “I have insurance, money gets deducted every month.” When Lulu asked what it covered, she couldn’t say; she only remembered her nephew sold it to her. Lulu realised many people don’t lack insurance. They lack someone willing to explain it.
The moment she decided to stay
A few months into handing out flyers, Lulu helped a new friend with a hospital claim for his father. Seeing him go from panic to relief, she got licensed and became a full-time insurance agent.
Her first client was a young man who had just started working, on a tight budget. Instead of a stack of plans, she suggested one basic medical card and adding more once his income was stable. Years later he asked her to plan for his whole family.
From families to factories and shops
A long-time client runs a hardware factory in Klang. After an incident one year, he found he only had the fire policy the bank required; his stock and lost business weren’t covered. Then came a major flood in Selangor, and clients without flood cover could only record their losses. Since then Lulu has focused on full risk checks for factories and shops too.
More real stories: Lulu’s 13 years.
No hard selling: her rule
Many people avoid insurance agents because they expect a sales pitch. Lulu works the other way round:
- She looks at what you already have. Often an old policy is worth keeping and only the gaps need filling.
- If it doesn’t suit you, she says so. Duplicate cover, over-budget plans or cover you don’t need yet: she’ll tell you not to buy.
- No pressure to sign. Take the explanation home, think it over, and ask as many questions as you like.
- Asking isn’t buying. If you only want to understand your own policies, WhatsApp her anyway.

How to verify Lulu as an agent
Lulu is a registered Great Eastern life insurance agent (Great Eastern agent code 6385556). Every life insurance agent in Malaysia must be registered with LIAM, the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia. Ask Lulu for her LIAM registration number and check it on LIAM’s Know Your Agent page or by SMS.
General insurance, such as car, fire, travel and business cover, is arranged under Pro Vision Wealth Management’s company registration.
Lulu is paid by commission from the insurer, so there is no fee for insurance advice. Premiums are always paid to the insurance company, never into a personal account.
Where she serves
Lulu serves clients all over Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, from Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam to Klang, Puchong, Seri Kembangan, Cheras, Kajang, Ampang, Kepong and Cyberjaya.
