Check NCD on MyCarInfo: step by step
- Go to www.mycarinfo.com.my and choose NCD Enquiry, then “Find Out Your NCD Online”.
- Enter your vehicle registration number and the owner’s IC number (or business registration number for a company car).
- Tick the terms and the CAPTCHA, then click Get My NCD Report.
- The report shows your current and next NCD, when each takes effect, and your current period of cover.
The check is free. If an NCD has been withdrawn or cancelled by an insurer, it may not show correctly, so ask your insurer or agent to confirm.

What happens to NCD after a claim
- At-fault own damage claim: your NCD resets to 0% at the next renewal, and you climb back one step per claim-free year.
- Not-at-fault claim via Own Damage Knock-for-Knock (OD-KFK): your NCD is not affected.
- Windscreen claim: generally does not affect NCD if you have windscreen cover.
Some insurers offer an NCD relief add-on that compensates you for the NCD you lose after a claim. For small repairs, compare the repair cost with the extra premium you would pay over the next years before claiming.
Selling or changing your car: keep your NCD
NCD belongs to you, not the car, but it doesn’t move automatically.
- When you sell the old car, ask the insurer to cancel the policy as an NCD withdrawal.
- The insurer issues an NCD withdrawal confirmation letter.
- Give the letter to the insurer of your new car so the NCD is applied.
If you keep the old car insured while moving its NCD, that old policy drops to 0% and you pay extra premium for the rest of its period. One NCD can only be used on one car at a time.
If your insurance lapsed
Your NCD isn’t lost the moment your policy expires. It is commonly kept for about 12 months after the policy ends, but insurers’ practice varies, so confirm before a long gap. Never drive without valid insurance, whatever happens to your NCD.
NCD missing at renewal? Common causes are a claim last year, NCD still attached to an old car, a gap in cover, or mismatched owner details. Lulu can check it with the insurer for you.
